What does VLM Hydrocultuur do for the environment?

We have been using waste-generated heat since the creation of our company (1989). The heat is produced by the power plant in Geertruidenberg. The heat reaches our company through a ducts system as hot water. The heat is then distributed to our heating network here via a heat exchanger.

The water the plants are fed with reaches a number of collection silos via the greenhouse. From there, the water reaches the plants through an ingenious system. All the water is re-used.

We only use plant protection products if we cannot avoid it so as to affect the environment as little as possible. The plants are checked for illnesses and pests by a specialised company. It is then decided in consultation with them which measures need to be taken (if necessary).

Anything relating to the environment is registered via MPS.
